Two Piece Shuffleboard Playfields: a Starter Guide
Posted by Paul on Jan 26th 2024
Shuffleboard is a great addition to any game room, but the tables are long and sometimes room access can be challenging. It is for this reason that two-piece shuffleboard tables are a great solution.
There can be a lot of anxiety about having a seam in the middle of the board, but in this post we will dispel that anxiety. We will show you how a two-piece board can help get you the table you want, into the room you want, and demonstrate how it doesn't affect play.
Playcraft has developed a large number of two-piece shuffleboard table options. In Woodbridge and Georgetown, anything 14’ or 16’ is available in two-piece. In pro style tables ( Santa Fe, Telluride, Brazos, etc ) two-piece is available from 12' to 22'. The Saybrook is a flat pack table that is completely KD and ONLY available with two-piece playfields. The Saybrook is available in 12, 14 and 16 feet.
Two piece boards are made from a single finished board that is then cut. The two halves remain together as a set and are joined underneath by rods and a micro leveling system. Because the halves are a matched set, the fit is very tight and the levels match for a seamless transition.
Additionally, the pucks ride on the speedwax so they are always above the level of the seam. While the seam can be felt by hand and will always be visible, it is not active in play.

Key Shuffleboard Measurements to Consider
When evaluating room size, remember that gameplay isn't confined to just the
table's length. Clearance around the
shuffleboard table is crucial for comfortable maneuvering and powerful shots.
We recommend allocating at least 3 feet of clearance on both ends of the table
for optimal play.
Additional Considerations:
●Doorways and Hallways: When considering a two-piece table, ensure the doorways and hallways leading to your game room are wide enough to accommodate both halves comfortably. Measure the width of the disassembled pieces to avoid any surprises.
●Table Placement: Think about where you'll place the table within the room. Will you need clearance on all sides, or can it be positioned against a wall? Factor this in when evaluating the minimum room size.
Finding the Perfect Shuffleboard Table For Your Needs
If you have great access to your game room, then you might not need a two piece shuffleboard table. On the other hand, if going two-piece means you can get a longer table down those stairs or around that corner, we hope you will consider a two-piece shuffleboard playfield.
